Background:
The City of London Academy is a brand new secondary school sponsored by the Corporation of London in Southwark, which opened in September 2003 with 180 year 7 pupils. 180 new pupils will come to the school in September. The academy will grow year on year until it consists of 1200 pupils from 11-19 and over 100 staff. The school will be in temporary buildings on the Lynton Road site for the 2004-5 school year. The new pound 30m buildings will finally open in September 2005.
