Background:

Charville Primary School was build in 1939 and opened in 1948. it has large spacious grounds and a conservation area which includes a pond, coppice, hedgerow and a woodland walk. The nursery occupies an extended purpose-built unit and adjoins the main building. It has its own facilities and playground. Other facilities include two purpose-built information technology rooms one of which includes science facilities, purpose-built computerised library, music room, two large halls, hot meal provision and out-of-school-hours clubs. A new two-storey block incorporating new dining facilities and a science room opened in December 1999. At Charville Primary School children are involved in print-making, painting, collage, drawing, sculpture and modelling. Qualities of expression and movement are gained through dance and drama, small apparatus skills, gymnasium equipment, games skills and swimming. Charville Primary School provides a happy and secure atmosphere in which the child can learn and develop their abilities.
