Background:
Archdeacon Cambridge's School is a Church of England foundation, named after the Venerable George Owen Cambridge, a former Archdeacon of Middlesex. The grounds include separate playgrounds for infant and junior children, a large grassy area with mature trees and a conservation area with a pond. The building includes two halls equipped for PE, twelve light and airy classrooms, a library, a fully networked ICT room, a music room, a food technology room, a staff room and a separate early years unit. The school provides a wide range of activities, organised by the staff, sometimes with help from parents, from which the children may choose. Clubs and groups meet during lunchtimes or after school and are very popular. Choices vary but can include football, chess, environment, internet, knitting, dancing, drama and choir. The school aims to develop an awareness of other faiths so that the children learn to understand and respect the beliefs of others.
