Background:

Churchill Gardens is a community primary school situated in the southern part of the City of Westminster. It is adjacent to Churchill Gardens council housing estate, which is one of the largest housing estates in the country. The school is publicly funded.The school is very well resourced in all curriculum areas. It has an ICT suite, which is networked to every room in the school. Each class has at least one computer and printer, a digital camera and almost all the classes have an interactive whiteboard. It also has a school library, teacher resource room and additional resource bases located throughout the school.All staff are required to teach the National Curriculum and follow school policies. The children are taught by their class teacher for all their lessons except music. The children are supported in class by learning support assistants and classroom assistants. 'Churchill Gardens is a very successful school. It provides a high-quality education for all its pupils, which enables all pupils to achieve well from a low baseline of attainment on entry. Pupils have very positive attitudes to work and maintain high levels of behaviour. The good relationships between pupils and teachers are based on mutual respect. It is not just a school but an international family'.
