Background:

Fircroft Primart School was built in 1896. The school comprises four separate buildings, one occupied by the nursery, and a 'large' area of hard play surface. Fircroft believes that sport is an essential part of a child's development. Children from Year 3 upwards go swimming once a week and receive professional teaching from coaches from Wimbledon Football Club, Spencer Park Tennis Club and Wandsworth Sports Initiative. Fircroft also believe in pupils' participation in clubs and teams outside of school. Clubs currently run include tennis, chess, French, drama, maths and orchestra. The school runs trips to museums and a 'wide range of different places'. There is a five day trip in Year 3 to Broadstairs and, in Year 6, pupils go to an activity centre.
