Background:
Isleworth and Syon School is one of the oldest schools in the area. Its origin can be traced to the establishment, in 1630, of a charity school that became known as The Blue School in the 18th century. The school is on a single site and consists of the main buildings and various later additions such as the art and craft areas and sports hall. The school has its own playing fields as well as exclusive use of recreational facilities off the main site. There are seven science laboratories, three art rooms, six design and technology workshops and a music suite including three music practice rooms. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include rugby, soccer, athletics, basketball and cricket. The school aims to provide an environment in which all boys are fully able to realise their potential both academically and socially.
