Background:
Langley Park School for Boys founded in 1901 and is now housed in modern buildings. There are specialist rooms for all curriculum subjects including 10 science labs, six workshops for design and technology, a games hall, a gymnasium and five recently upgraded IT rooms. There is also a new two-storey building for English, art, graphics and the library resources centre. In addition the school has exclusive use of its own outdoor pursuits and study centre in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire. The school has nine tennis courts, athletics facilities and pitches for rugby, hockey and cricket. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include gymnastics, football, badminton, rugby, hockey, cricket, tennis and athletics. There are annual ski trips, educational visits to the European mainland and annual exchange visits with partner school in France and Germany. The school aims to develop every pupil's intellectual and personal capacities to the full.
