Background:

Phoenix High School, established in April 1995, is a mixed comprehensive school situated in the north of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The modern spacious buildings are housed on an attractive ten acre site. It welcomes girls and boys from 11 to 16 and offers a full and enriching education to all from the most academically able to those in need of special educational support. Years 7 to 11 each have places for 180 students. Occupying a spacious site, Phoenix High School is justifiably proud of its wide range of facilities. These include an accelerated learning centre for gifted and talented students, a technology suite, careers suite, six science laboratories, six gymnasiums, a learning resource area/school library, special needs suite, creative and performing arts facilities for music, art and drama, computer studies suite as well as a staff training room with conference facilities. The school recognises the importance of enriching the curriculum and students are encouraged to participate in a wide range or extra-curriculum activities. Activities include chess club, owari club, music, drama, and dance workshops, sporting activities and theatre visits. There are also opportunities to go on school visits abroad. The school aims to provide an environment that enables every individual regardless of gender, race, creed, class or ability to develop their abilities and talents within the school community.
