Background:
St Aidan's Primary School opened in 1976 to provide for the growing Catholic community in the parishes of St Aidan's, Coulsdon and St Mary's, Old Coulsdon. There are three extra classrooms and a new brick built computer suite is to be built in January 2000. The grounds have a field, and a prayer garden built in 1999. French is taught from the age of seven and children regularly enter cross country competitions as well as netball, lacrosse and 'kwik cricket' events. The school is linked to two Roman Catholic parishes and money is raised for charitable purposes during the six weeks of Lent.
