Background:
Ben Johnson Primary School is in the heart of the Ocean Estate and borders the edge of the recently regenerated Mile End Park and the Regent's Canal. The new building is part of a Private Finance Initiative (PFI), along with other Tower Hamlets Schools, to provide its pupils with spacious accommodation and superb facilities and specialist areas to support the children's learning. Each classroom contains a range of equipment and materials necessary to enable every main subject to be taught ' including its own computers, as information and communication technology is used to support learning across the curriculum. The school provides a broad range of different enrichment activities. There is a wide range of activities available as lunchtime and after-school clubs including football, drama, information and communication technology, art and music. The school aims to provide a safe, caring and supportive environment.
