Background:

Dawlish Primary School is a community school, which takes pupils from five to 11 years. It also has a nursery class for children aged three to five years. At Dawlish School, children learn in a happy, caring environment. Children are grouped according to their age and there are about 30 children in each class. The overall aim is to deepen and extend children's experience of the world and to help them develop basic skills and imaginative understanding. Children will be encouraged to develop positive attitudes towards themselves and satisfactory relationships with other people, whatever their colour or creed. Visits arranged by the school are an important part of its child's work. Many activities are organised at lunch-time and after school. These include: games, table-top games, homework club and English booster class. Dawlish Primary School is to guide the development of all children, and enable them to achieve their fullest potential in its multi-cultural society.
