Background:
Foresters Primary School was founded in 1975, the school is located on an extensive' site on the borders of Sutton and Croydon. Its 'large' grounds include playing fields and 'attractive' gardens. The school is housed in a 'modern' single-storey building, which was re-built after a fire in 1982. The accommodation includes ten classrooms, a nursery unit, library, cookery area, art area, resource area and a 'spacious' hall. In 1997 an 'opportunity base' was established which provides for children with communication difficulties on the autistic spectrum. A forester has a 'well-established' staff team and a 'strong tradition' of extra-curricular activities, including netball, football, cricket, badminton, athletics, swimming and reading clubs. It also supports local, national and international charities. The school provides a secure environment in which each child is encouraged to become a confident, independent learner through a broad and balanced curriculum.
