Background:

Established in 1939, Frith Manor is the largest primary school in the borough of Barnet. It is proud of the diversity of its pupils and a large proportion of them have parents based locally with the armed services. The curriculum includes personal and social education, and environmental awareness programmes. There are a range of extra-curricular clubs and the importance of the creative arts is particularly emphasised, with children combining musical skills and charity by singing, for instance, at the North London Hospice. Sports are also encouraged, with every child entering one of four 'houses'. The football team have recently found success in county competitions. Year 5 and 6 pupils can also take part in a residential week in the New Forest each year. The school encourages parents' involvement in a scheme where they regularly listen to their child reading, and the Parent-Teacher Association regularly helps to raise money.
