Background:
Newtons Primary School was built in 1970 near farmland belonging to the Newton's family, where the school, and Newtons Corner, derive their names. The children are housed in two buildings specially designed in a semi-open plan style, which gives flexibility but also offers quiet working areas. The school was given a School Achievement Award in 2002 from the secretary of state for education for the improvement in the school's results. Newtons Primary School aims to be happy, welcoming, caring and inclusive as well as providing a secure and stimulating learning environment which allows everyone to feel positive and valued.
