Background:

Ravenstone is a large county primary school, educating 460 children between the ages of three and 11. The school is an imposing Edwardian three-storey building set in playgrounds which include tarmac and grassed areas, planted areas and fenced garden with a pond for environmental studies. The school has a well-equipped library, which it encourages children to use regularly both for the pleasure of books and for topic research. The school has a dedicated computer suite consisting of 15 internet linked computers which provide plenty of opportunity for every child to develop their computer and research skills. The core subjects include English, mathematics and science and the foundation subjects include design and technology, information and communication technology, history, geography, music, art and design and physical education. The school has lunchtime and after-school clubs including multisports, swimming, dance, football, choir, recorder, art club and construction.
