Background:
Rhyl Primary celebrated its centenary in 1995. The school building is four storeys high and has 16 classrooms, three halls, a music room, kiln room and library. Outdoor facilities include two playgrounds, a timber climbing frame and a summer garden. A new classroom and playground have been built on the roof of the building with 'spectacular' views of London. The school is proud of its 'strong' music tradition. Classes receive regular lessons from the school's specialist music teachers and visiting instrumental teachers provide tuition in violin, guitar, cello, flute, clarinet and brass. Rhyl is 'firmly committed' to taking children on regular educational visits, with children in Year 6 being offered a residential visit.
