Background:

Roding School was built in 1938 and opened as separate infant and junior schools in 1948 to serve the Woodford Bridge area. The amalgamation in 1982 formed Roding Primary School, catering for pupils aged four to 11. The school also has provision for pupils with Hearing Impairment who come to the school from all parts of Redbridge. The curriculum, to which each child is entitled, has been laid down by the national curriculum and provides a framework to ensure the development of pupils as they move through the school. At Roding its aim to promote an active, healthy lifestyle which will, in turn, encourage children to develop a positive attitude towards making regular exercise a part of their everyday life. At Roding it works with the Redbridge Music Service to provide instrumental lessons for selected pupils. All pupils are able to apply for these lessons and selection is based on musical potential. The aim for Roding is to be a happy and hard-working school, which provides each pupil with the opportunities, activities and support to achieve to his/her best academically, socially and spiritually.
