Background:

South Norwood Primary School is maintained by the London borough of Croydon. It caters for girls and boys aged four to 11 years. The buildings date from 1938 and many adaptations have been made over the years. Today it is well resourced with the facilities and equipment desirable for effective and qualitative teaching Eg two hall, computers in all classrooms, a library resource area, carpeted classroom areas, a large resource room and computer suite housing a network of 16 multi-media machines with internet access. There are separate play areas for infants and juniors, a nature garden (which is being refurbished), a grassed area, tree seats, two large pergolas and quiet playground zone. A number of extra-curricular activities are offered to children in various years covering a variety of subjects. The ethos of the school is to expect and encourage all adults and children at South Norwood to respect and help each other at all times.
