Background:

Thornhill is a large mixed primary school. It offers a wide curriculum to afford every child the opportunity to experience success. In arts, the school has worked with local artists, professional dancers and musicians to support classes. In sport, the school has regular soccer and cricket coaching in Key Stage 2 lessons and a gymnastics coach runs an after-school club. The school also enriches the curriculum by regularly organising whole or half day outings to museums, galleries, theatres or many other places of interest. There is a school fund to which parents and friends are welcome to contribute by donations or by supporting fundraising events. The school aims to make sure that it reflects the whole community. It intends to be a place where all its children feel safe, secure and valued.
