Background:

Woodbridge achieved specialist Language College status in September 2000 in recognition of excellence in the teaching of modern languages. Its aim is to develop and advance the language learning opportunities for its pupils and its local community. It has developed a state-of-the-art language centre with a 72-station multimedia computer network. Community languages are taught, and it is the only school in Redbridge to teach Russian. A multi-purpose sports hall enables pupils to play badminton, basketball, netball, tennis, volleyball and indoor cricket, and the school offers many sports teams. There are journeys abroad, visits to an outward-bound centre, an orchestra, choir and a large number of extra-curricular activities. The school aims to provide a calm, positive and purposeful environment.
