Background:
The London School Board opened Eardley Primary School on 15th May 1894. It was called the Eardley Road School and replaced a temporary school on the same site. Eardley School is housed in a three storey Victorian building and is surrounded by spacious grounds. The school has its own small, heated swimming pool, which is used by children from Reception to Year 4. Inside the school there are three halls that are used regularly for music, PE and dance lessons, as well as for assemblies and productions. Children have access to computers in every classroom and, in addition, the school has its own ICT suite. The school provides after-school sports clubs and encourage all children to join. It often competes against other schools and takes part in borough tournaments. At Eardley the staff and governors aim to provide its children with a safe and stimulating learning environment; one in which children can achieve to their full potential.
