Background:

The school has three forms of entry for children between the ages of seven and 11. The presentation of the Natioal Curriculum will be broad, balanced and relevant, providing for individual needs while promoting both independent and co-operative learning. Computers are used extensively throughout the school. Programs are challenging and motivating and provide children with the opportunity to store, retrieve and edit data, develop keyboard and word processing skills, graphic art and design. The teaching of art aims to provide pupils with a variety and progression of experiences where both imagination and technical ability can be developed. Design technology is the creative application of skills and knowledge to design and make good quality products. It is important that children learn to view the world critically and discuss the ways to improve the quality of everyday objects, materials and environments. The school provides excellent opportunities for meaningful and pleasurable musical experience. Physical Education aims to develop agility and physical co-ordination, competency in, and through, physical ability and the ability to express feelings through movement.
