Background:
Barrington Primary School is housed in a modern building on a single level, and the grounds include a field with cherry trees, a courtyard with a pond, an insectarium, a woodland conservation area and a school garden. It is a one-form entry school with seven classrooms, a hall, a library and a pre-school facility. The hall is used for collective worship, lunch, physical education, dance, drama and musical activities and for formal and informal meetings with parents. The school offers a variety of activities including art, book making, chess, cricket, dance, French, football, golf, gymnastics, netball, recorders, and rugby. The children follow a programme of environmental education, which explores recycling, care, maintenance, and development of the school grounds, and conservation of energy. The school aims to provide a happy, caring environment in which children feel secure to grow and develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, culturally, spiritually and physically to their full potential.
