Background:

Chase Bridge was first opened as a primary school in 1953. The school was extended in 1971. It is a two-form entry school and has its own extensive playing fields and an attractive open-air swimming pool. The children are accommodated in light pleasant classrooms. There are two well-equipped halls, which are used for physical education, drama and assemblies. A separate dining room is available for the older children. There are two reference libraries and a number of small rooms and bays to which the children can be withdrawn for quiet activities or to be given additional help. The school parent-teacher association plays an important part in strengthening links between home and school. It offers many extra-curricular activities to child, which includes swimming, football, cricket, netball, rugby, chess club, drama productions, dance, science workshop and gardening club. The school aims:1. To offer each child a broad and balanced curriculum which builds on the national curriculum core and foundation subjects, together with religious education.2. To help children to recognise and value their own talents and achievements and those of others.3.
