Background:
Devonshire Primary School is a co-educational primary school for children aged three to 11 years. It was opened in April 1968. An extension was built in February 1971 and a further open plan extension for infants was opened in January 1977. It has its own purpose-built nursery unit that opened in November 1990. It has excellent facilities for all primary education and particularly for practical subjects like art, craft and physical education. It has well equipped information and communication technology suite and each classroom has at least one networked personal computers. There is also a conservation area and pond within the school's attractive grounds. The school provides a basic introduction to sports of football, netball, hockey, tennis, basketball, rounders, cricket and athletics. The school aims to provide a calm, caring and stimulating environment.
