Background:

Good Shepherd Primary School was founded by, and is a part of, the Catholic Church. As a Catholic school its primary aim is to foster and maintain Christian values in conjunction with the family and the parish. The school community of Good Shepherd is committed to achieving equality of opportunity for all its children. Good Shepherd School is a one-form entry school. It has a full-time nursery class. Children are taught in one-year age groups. At Key Stage 1 the whole basis of the teaching is to give all pupils a thorough grounding in the acquisition of basic skills. At Key Stage 2 this is continued, with the addition of team sports, athletics, swimming and outdoor and adventurous activity.
