Background:

A co-educational primary school close to the town centre of Uxbridge; one-form-entry school. Nursery is modern purpose-built unit with its own facilities and is well-resourced: large open general activities area, reading room, area for sand and water play, kitchen, parents' room and garden/outside play area. Main school building has infant and junior department divided by large hall and patio. Curriculum is broad and well-balanced, each year-group having a planned programme matched to the requirements of the national curriculum and also to the needs of its pupils. Use of information technology is integral part of the learning process in school. All classes have a workstation, which is networked and connected to the Hillingdon Grid. New computer suite with interactive whiteboard. Regular opportunities for all ages to sing and make music in classroom assemblies, concerts and productions; performers invited into school and visits outside. Concerts and productions are regular feature of school life and give everybody the experience of public performance. Clubs vary according to time of year and availability of staff: netball, handball, football, rounders, athletics, art club, cookery, ICT, orchestra and choir. Over-subscribed, with more than three applications per place. DfES achievement award (2002).
