Background:
Macaulay was founded in 1648 and has 'long established' association with the Parish Church of Holy Trinity and the churches of the Clapham Team Ministry. In the 1960s, the school was rebuilt with three separate buildings which house the Nursery, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage Two pupils. The Parents' Association's fundraising provided the school with a climbing frame area for the playground. Macaulay sees itself as a 'small family school' serving the local area. Community links are improved by the schools fundraising for a local hospice. The school likes to emphasise the role of music as part of the curriculum and to aid the personal development of the pupils.
