Background:
The school's history spans a period, which began in the late 60s, the original site being located in Gypsy Road. The school located on a site with grass, benches and garden space. The school is fully equipped with facilities for science, ICT, technology, PE, general purpose classrooms and the art, including a dance studio, art rooms, music centre and drama studio. In addition, there is the great hall for whole school assemblies and performances. The learning resources centre is a vibrant learning area, where students have access to library facilities and computers. There are also three self-service dining rooms, used at break and lunchtimes. There is also a wide variety of sports clubs, choir and dance practice, as well as lunchtime and after-school study sessions for students preparing for GCSE subjects. The school aims to create a well ordered and safe community, where learning and high achievement come first, enabling students to enter the world as women of the 21st century, who are confident, thinking informed, responsible and adaptable citizens.
