Background:

Tweeddale Primary School is part of the St Helier Estate. The school is built on land owned by the Miller family who were nurserymen and market gardeners. The school is housed in a purpose built two storey building with a new foundation stage block, 14 classrooms, a large hall, separate gymnasium, music room, library, resources rooms, meeting room, computer suite and swimming pool. At Tweeddale Primary it makes every effort to be caring and to deal with people in a calm and understanding way. All children have the entitlement of access to a broad and balanced curriculum if they are to acquire the understanding, skills and knowledge they will need for adult life. Its aim to provide a broad, balanced curriculum that is appropriately differentiated and relevant to the needs of all children. The school is equipped with a suite of 15 computers and an interactive white board. In addition, there are computers in each of the classrooms. All computers are networked, with internet access. Tweeddale Primary has its own music room where most class music lessons take place. Opportunities for singing, using instruments and listening to music are provided through well planned music lessons. Tweeddale Primary School will provide the opportunity for everyone to succeed.
