Background:

Whitmore High School is a mixed comprehensive secondary school. The school has three new information and technology suites with internet access plus a school wide computer network with industry-standards software. There are eight science laboratories with prep rooms, five of which are either newly built or recently modernised. There is a drama studio, a brand new music studio with recording and information and technology (IT) facilities. Additional small-group practice rooms; a suite of design and technology rooms, which includes a central resource area with computer-aided design (CAD). Two gymnasia, external basketball courts, a floodlit sports area for tennis and netball. An open range of sporting activities is open to all and includes competitive teams. Particular successes in recent years include football, trampolining, netball, gymnastics, athletics, tennis, basketball, and cricket. There are many opportunities for taking part in visits both at home and abroad. The school aims to recognise the needs of individuals, placing suitably high demands on them and stimulating them to achieve success.
