Background:
Central Foundation Girls' School was originally established as a Ward School in the City of London in 1726. From 1891 until 1975 the Central Foundation's Girls School was in Spital Square. The school moved to its present site in Bow in 1975. The school has excellent facilities and resources including a large attractive new building. Other facilities are well-equipped rooms for all area of technology, new music rooms, a sports hall, dance studio and new dining facilities. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum. The physical department offers a wide range of sporting activities. These include netball, volleyball, basketball, rounders, badminton, athletics and gymnastics. The school aims to provide a caring and disciplined environment in which each member of the school community may develop self-esteem and learn at the same time to understand, appreciate and respect the worth and value of others.
