Background:
In 1837, Christ Church School was built adjacent to Christ Church parish Church, on the site of what is now the church parish room and part of the playground. It was created for the education of poor children in the principles of the Church of England. Christ Church is run as a Voluntary Aided Church of England School and supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools and Camden Local Education Authority. As a Church of England School, it teaches the Christian faith and respect all world faiths.
