Background:

Dr Triplett's is a two-form entry Church of England Primary School built in 1963. The grounds are attractive with three hard playground areas for infant, nursery and juniors, which were re-surfaced in 1984. There is a large field area and tennis courts which are marked for multi purpose games activities. Religious education is the guideline of its philosophy for the pupil's spiritual and moral development. Sporting activities are encouraged as they are seen to enhance the total development of the child in line with its school aims. It is the aim of the school to encourage and give the opportunity for every child to take part in a variety of curricular and extra-curricular activities. These include: association football, rugby union, hockey, netball, tennis, cricket, swimming, and athletics. The purpose of primary education is to introduce children to a wide range of experiences which will extend their understanding of themselves and the world they live in, and enable them to acquire the basic concepts, values and attitudes which will form a sound basis for secondary school and eventually for adult life.
