Background:
Finchley Catholic High School was founded in 1926 by the local parish priest, and was a grammar school until turning comprehensive in 1971. The buildings are set in extensive grounds, including playing fields, three football pitches and a cricket square. The school is easily accessible via the London Underground. In addition to the sporting tradition there are musical programmes in the school, and recently a fast ethernet network has been installed, linking all the school's computers. The school aims to be a caring Christian community where all pupils and staff matter equally and will do their best to achieve the most for the school. High standards of work, behaviour and appearance are emphasised as the basis for success in later life.
