Background:

Hampstead Parochial Church of England Primary School is a voluntary aided school, established originally from the Sunday school of St John at Hampstead in 1787. The school was established on its present site in 1862 when the infant (Key Stage 1) and junior (Key Stage 2) classrooms were built. The administration block was built in the 1930s. As a church school, it has close links with St John's Church. The whole school visits the Church at major Christian festivals and on other special occasions during the year. The school has an ICT suite with 16 computers and an interactive whiteboard. Each class is equipped with one multi-media computer with programmes to enable the children to develop skills in the five strands of ICT. An appreciation of art, music and drama is encouraged and the opportunity provided for children to develop their skills and interests in these fields. The school has a flourishing Parent Teacher Association, which helps with school activities and functions. The school aims to provide a supportive and stimulating environment in which Christian beliefs are valued and realised in the general life of the school.
