Background:
The Holy Family College is a voluntary aided Roman Catholic, mixed, comprehensive school for boys and girls. It is based on two sites situated very close to each other in Shernhall Street, Walthamstow and is maintained by the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The new block will house a media studies suite for filming and film editing, a music room and practice rooms with a music technology suite and sound studio. There will be a new library, new special needs areas and two new studios for the practice of dance, drama and performance art. Building work will also take place on a new science laboratory with a computer suite, a sixth form study area including information and communication technology facilities. The school aims to build a safe and secure environment where its staff and students can work together in a caring atmosphere of respect and friendliness.
