Background:
St Bernadette's was founded in 1953. In addition to the national curriculum, older pupils receive specialist teaching in French. A number of sporting activities are open to pupils, including competitive matches in football, netball, cricket, athletics and rounders. Various fundraising events are organised to support charities such as CAFOD, SHELTER and Marie Curie Cancer Research. Tennis club is offered before school on Thursdays and Fridays and pupils have the opportunity to attend various after-school clubs throughout the week. The Catholic identity of St Bernadette's is as a Christ-centred community devoted to the pursuit of learning and high achievement. The acquisition of knowledge and understanding and the development of skills enables us to be open to truth and justice thereby ensuring equality of opportunity for all members of our community.
