Background:
St Gregory's Roman Catholic Primary School was founded in 1952 to serve St Benedict's Parish, Ealing. The school grounds have a pond, plant beds, a vegetable and a play area. The school puts a strong emphasis on participation in extra-curricular sports, and has had recent successes in local netball and football competitions. The parents run an after-school football club for the younger pupils. Musical interests are catered for by the after-school recorder club, Irish music club and the choir, which sings weekly at Ealing Abbey. The school participates in local and international fundraing events, supporting charities such as CAFOD, the Catholic Childrens' Society, and Children in Need. Over-subscribed, with two applications per place. It is working towards a Healthy Schools award. DfES achievement award (2003).
