Background:
St Joseph's RC First and Middle School was established in 1937 by the sisters of its lady of the missions and moved from its original site in Wealdstone to Belmont in 1977. It has a dedicated 'Friends' association that works tirelessly to raise funds for school developments. A particular feature of the school is its ICT suite and library, which provides a futuristic learning environment for the pupils. A number of additional activities are run such as: tennis, football, Gaelic football, netball, rounders and cricket, cross-country, athletics and competitive swimming. Its annual sports day is a particular highlight of the school year. The school provides an experience of Christian Community for the pupils in which full regard is paid to their intellectual, physical, spiritual, moral, and emotional development. It strives for growth in each child's inward life and in relationships with others.
