Background:

St Mary of the Angels school is a voluntary aided Roman Catholic school for boys and girls from the ages of three to 11 years old. The school is a one-and-a-half-form entry and classes are of mixed ability. There are at present 11 classes in the school and the nursery.Previously housed in two buildings either side of St Mary of the Angels parish church, the school moved to its present position 16 years ago. An extension to the new building which now contains the junior classrooms was added in 1994. A range of after-school clubs include chess, choir, football, netball, homework, flamenco dancing, gymnastics and tennis. The school maintains close links with the two Bayswater parishes it serves - St Mary of the Angels and Our lady, Queen of Heaven. The school'strives to establish a community centered in the love of Christ through Mary's help so that his values, attitudes and spirit pervade the life of the school. Using the curriculum framework, it aims to provide a broad, balanced and sound education which develops the whole child.
