Background:

The school was built in 1968 and has recently undergone a major building programme, allowing for a two form entry, though the school is still over-subscribed. There are now eight new classrooms, a new hall and staff room. The surrounding grounds include hard playing surface and a field. Both are used to develop the children's skills in football, netball, running and tennis. The school'serves the Catholic communities of St Edmunds, Beckenham, St Marks West Wickham and Holy Rosary Parish in Hayes. There are good links with the commmunity through the three served parishes, and via the school chaplain. The school runs after school clubs in sports, art and chess and also organises charity fundraising events with the children. Causes supported recently include a parish school in Bali, the Mission Club and pupils are also encouraged to choose additional charities to support.
