Background:
The school was built and established for boys by the Society of Jesus in 1962. It became a comprehensive school in the 1970s and retains a reputation for high academic and sporting achievement. It has 20 acres of grounds and facilities including a sports hall, indoor swimming pool, chapel, four main blocks of classrooms and specialist rooms. Sport is a great strength, especially rugby and athletics. The First XV won the Daily Mail National Cup in 2001. There are numerous choirs and instrumental groups in music, and a wide variety of extra curricular activities and trips. The school aims to provide a Christian, committed and hard working environment and to use the best of individual approaches with a modern curriculum and equipment.
