Founded in early 19th century near Kew Green; moved to present site in 1824; single-storey school, with separate Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 playgrounds to the rear; also field for sports in front of building. Over-subscribed; after-school care. French taught to all pupils from reception to Year 6; thinking skills throughout school; also personal, health and social education. Strong extra-curricular programme with variety of sports, including rugby, basketball, football, and athletics; also other activities such as drama, dance, choirs, and two orchestras. School challenges for top sports honours. Links with local churches and community; successful parent-school association. Over-subscribed, with 1.7 applications per place.
