Background:
The school has large catchment area and very mixed community. The school was founded in 1910, occupying an old building but with lots of renovation to upgrade the site. The school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities especially sports, music and drama. A full-time sports coach (teaching assistant) is on the staff as wellas a full-time information and communication technology (ICT) teaching assistant (TA). There is a newly renovated ICT suite which is used by all. New personal computers have been provided throughout school. The school is inclusive and welcoming. An enriching curriculum with a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs is offered by the school. There is a strong emphasis on sports and music. The school has a friendly ethos and everyone is encouraged to do their best.
