Background:

Belliville is a local authority funded community primary school with its own nursery. Pupils enjoy a varied curriculum and have the opportunity to take part in a broad range of extra-curricular activities, which includes opportunities to represent their school and borough at different events. It is also proud to be a training school for student teachers and is involved in a variety of research projects aimed at improving children's learning. ICT forms a vital part of the curriculum at Belleville. It has broadband access to the internet and all teachers have laptops. It has a total of four interactive white boards. The school offers a wide variety of lunchtime and after-school clubs and sports. This currently includes football, cricket, athletics, netball, drama, ballet, gardening, gymnastics, rugby, recorder, choir, individual music tuition and theatre visits. Its cricket, rugby and football teams have all been successful over recent years, both at school and borough level. The school's ethos is to show consideration and respect to other at all times. To this end, it encourages all members of the school community to act in a manner, which shows tolerance, understanding and appreciation of others, both in and out of the school.
