Background:

Goose Green Primary School is a new school, which opened in May 2000. It is a multi-cultural primary school, pleasantly situated close to the local amenities of East Dulwich and within easy access to Central London. The building is a fine, listed, four storey of Victorian design with light-airy classrooms, a nursery unit, a community room which facilitates the breakfast and after-school club. Since opening in 2000 refurbishment has included up-grading some classrooms, provision of a computer suite for whole class teaching with 30 workstations, moving the ground floor and making a new staff room and improving physical play facilities for both the nursery and main school children. The school curriculum should aim to promote pupil's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and prepare all pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life. There are several clubs and extra-curricular activities such as art, football, netball, music and wildlife. The school aims to raise achievement by providing a stimulating learning environment with high expectations and a broad and balanced curriculum.
