Background:

St Agatha's Catholic Primary School is a primary and nursery school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is three to 11. This school is over one hundred years old and was first opened on 11 January 1895 as a new 'all age' school. Much has changed in education since then but it remain a catholic school serving mainly, but not exclusively, catholic families and their children from the age of three plus to eleven. Since 1998, the school has been doubled in size to two forms of entry ie 60 places in each year group. It believes that as a learning institution it is important to have high expectations for all our pupils and those they are all exposed to a rich and broad curriculum. It believes that the positive embracement of new technologies can enhance the learning opportunities for all the pupils. It regards itself as forward thinking with ICT including an air-conditioned ICT suite over 50 PCs around the school, a digital projector in each class, smart boards and Promethean boards all contributing to an exciting learning and teaching environment across the school.
