Background:
Founded in the 1920's, Allfarthing is housed in a traditional 'triple decker' building which is 'well-maintained and well-equipped for modern teaching'. The school boasts a 'large' IT suite with scanners, digital cameras and internet access for all pupils. It is an eco-friendly' school and in 1999 achieved a national Eco Schools award for the second time. The school values the arts and an artist in residence worked in the school on a bronze sculpture for the millennium. Allfarthing's main community links are with local museums, schools and places of worship, while it also maintains links with a number of charities, chiefly Oxfam, Action Aid and an orphanage in India. In addition to its choir and orchestra the school pupils make an annual appearance in the Blue Peter Christmas choir.
