Background:
The school is a fully inclusive primary school, with part-time places for children aged from 3 to 11 years. The school is housed in a new purpose built two-storey building with a lift, having moved from its original three storey Victorian building in April 2003. The ground floor contains a nursery and reception class, a library and computer suite, a hall (used for physical education, assemblies and school meals). The first floor contains infant and junior classrooms, the restart and learning mentor rooms, and the learning support room. The school grounds include the main playground and a separate nursery and reception outdoor area. Religious education and personal, social, health and citizenship education are also taught in addition to the national curriculum. The school provides a learning environment in which all children can work comfortably and confidently towards their potential in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, building on what they know and can do.
